R7: Propelled to Third

Another lovely evening on Auckland Harbour saw us with a new recruit on board - Andre has joined us to exercise his recent sailing prowess learned on the Penny Whiting course.

The Crew

Course 5

From the start line to Rough Rock Buoy (S), Orakei Buoy (S), Resolution Buoy (S), Bayswater Buoy (P), to the finish line.

The Start

A good start, but not great - need to get up speed before we hit the line.

Interesting to see the placement of Rough Rock Buoy, we may have to check those coordinates, I'm sure we rounded it!

Progress

A nice sail, my words were "we almost had wind", however we sailed well to the conditions. We also needed to drink the DB Export that I have had on the boat (for too long) - and that wasn't too hard ;-)

The Result

Well on the night we were 4th, however checking the results I see that there was a disqualification and we actually came in third on handicap.

On top of that we picked up a spot prize.
