R8: Back on the Podium

Finally some wind. Yes this was a good breeze across the course, that did not die as we turned for home. Also, I had just cleaned and antifouled the bottom, so we were as slippery as an SEO Expert in a link-building frenzy.

The Crew

John (Captain), Ian, Dave, Mark and Andre.

Course 7

From the start line to North Head Buoy (S), Bean Rock Buoy (S), North Head Buoy (S), Bean Rock Buoy (S), Resolution Buoy (S), to the finish line.

The Start

A fantastic start, we were first on the line and sailing - this was our best start yet!

Progress

Down the harbour we stayed close to the fleet, enjoying an beautiful clear evening with a good sailing breeze.

This course is interesting with the two legs to North Head-Bean Rock. It means the fleet are constantly in contact, fast and slow. Absolutely kept the crew busy and vigilant with the outcome that we came in on top. The other satisfaction was finishing ahead of our rivals on the water.

The Result

Number one. You might say we didn't do our handicap any good tonight, with a six and a half minute win on handicap.

cheers johnhs
