R6: To finish you must first start.

Yes it is true of a great deal many things "to finish you must first start". An that was the problem we had - we just could not get across the strong tide to get around the pin and start the race.



Try as we did, we crossed the start line 15 minutes late.

The Crew

Course 9

To Rough Rock, Orakei, Resolution, and home. Shortened to Resolution.

The Start

OMG - 15 minutes late. You can see from the gps track that we had 4 goes at getting around the pin.

Progress

We had a mission to catch up with the rest of the fleet - however we did make up half the deficit by the end, and we enjoyed one of the best evening skies over Auckland that I have seen for a long time.

The Result

Finished and on return Ian got a draw prize.
