The Crew
John (Captain), Dave, and Ian.Course 9
To Rough Rock, Orakei, Resolution, and home. Wind from ????.... everywhere. The Start
We got to the line well, and loitered with a plan to gybe across the line in the light air. Then Crazy Legs (a Farr 1020) came up under us so we had to tack - and in the light it was not possible. We were stuck and had to gybe and follow them. Great idea, badly executed.Progress
"The build is breezing" said Ian, and true it was - only which way??We had boats at North Head closing at each other both with spinnakers - crazy stuff. With the wind flip-flopping and dying out - then coming back... and the outgoing tide getting quite strong too, it was often hard to navigate. We are on Port , no we're on starboard - right-of-way is ours... nope now we are windward boat etc etc.
We had a chance to get back to the fleet, but our biggest worry was making the 9:00 cut-off. We did with 10 mins to spare, in a breeze that was still up and down. A couple of nice beers rounded off a great sail.

The Result
Finished - Yes, and Ian got a Burnsco voucher!cheers, johnhs
