As the night came down, we found ourselves becalmed near Stanley Point, trying to find a bit of wind to get us to the finish before cutoff. The result says all - DNF (Did Not Finish).
The Crew
John (Captain), Nicola, Tim and Ian, Blair.The team was together and we made sure we were in the box at the start this time. The tide was turning to go out so we knew we would have a bit of a battle coming back up the harbour.
Course 6
The course was quite long, having us go down to Northern Leading Buoy.The Start
A great start, right in the middle of the field, however with our inability to point well we were the first to tack back across the harbour. That was when we started to lose touch with the others who could hold longer. This needs to be our next effort - getting some speed, pointing high.Progress
As noted we slipped back a bit but the killer came when we became becalmed as the evening wore on, leaving us out of time - by about 3-4 minutes.The Result
